A Hidden Sanctuary Amidst the Mountains

The Young King Dethroned
Once the ruler of Joseon, the young King Danjong was overthrown by his uncle, Suyang Daegun, who usurped the throne. Stripped of his royal status, Danjong was banished to this remote and desolate place. Imagine the young king, once surrounded by the grandeur of the palace, now confined to this lonely and secluded spot, his days filled with sorrow and longing.
Nosan-dae: A Glimpse of Home
Within Cheongnyeongpo, there is a place called Nosan-dae. It is said that Danjong would climb to this vantage point to gaze longingly towards Hanyang (modern-day Seoul), his homeland. Standing there, one can almost see the young king, his heart heavy with homesickness, reciting poems filled with yearning and melancholy.
The Weeping Pine of Gwaneum
